ReviewTrackers customers in the restaurant industry now have a new review source available. AllergyEats is a restaurant review site where users rate a restaurant based on their ability to accommodate specific food allergies instead of the traditional rating based on overall experience.
An Allergy-Friendly Review Site
AllergyEats was founded by Paul Antico, who has three children with food allergies. Prior to creating AllergyEats, he would have to travel for an hour or more to find restaurants with dishes that took his children’s allergies into account. However, finding these restaurants took plenty of time and Antico didn’t have prior knowledge of their offerings before stepping through the door, hence the creation of AllergyEats.
Antico’s children are just 3 of the 32 million Americans who have food allergies, which also includes 5.6 million children under the age of 18. Prior to AllergyEats, families like Antico’s struggled with finding places to eat. Families with children who have food allergies already spend $25 billion every year by providing general care. AllergyEats aims to make the lives of those families just a little bit easier by providing a list of 850,000 allergy-compliant restaurants that can be reviewed.
On the home page, users can search for a specific restaurant or for a set list in a 2-, 5-, 10-, and 20-mile radius based on their state and ZIP code. They can also filter their search based on a variety of food allergies including the following:
- Peanuts
- Tree Nuts
- Diary
- Eggs
- Wheat
- Gluten
- Fish
- Shellfish
- Sesame
- Soy
Every restaurant’s page on AllergyEats features its name, address, and phone number. Also included is the overall rating as determined by AllergyEats users and its chain rating. Every review left by a user shows the date of the review, the allergies mentioned in their rating, and their in-depth text feedback. Restaurants can find out more information AllergyEats and its listings on the site’s “For Restaurateurs” page.
A More Informative Restaurant
By providing information on allergy-friendly options, restaurants on AllergyEats help consumers save time and make smarter dining decisions. Additionally, listing the types of allergies helps a restaurant stand out even more from local competitors who might not be on AllergyEats due to a lack of options available for those with food allergies. Finally, reviewers on AllergyEats can provide detailed feedback that helps the restaurant improve their allergy-friendly options for future diners.
In the long run, partnering with AllergyEats helps establish a larger online footprint. Claiming profiles on as many business review sites as possible helps a restaurant’s overall visibility. This helps attract more customers and generate more reviews, which you can use to gain insights and establish trust thanks to the power of the ReviewTrackers platform.
